Buying a hand made rug or carpet is more like buying a painting than a floor covering as they are made by individual weavers who weave the rugs in different ways using different techniques and different materials.

It is very difficult for the average buyer to decide if the rug they like is a good quality or is worth the money being asked. With most household items there are brand names and price comparison sites but there are none for hand made carpets.

All Mala Carpets have a blackboard symbol discreetly woven into each carpet to show it is made by Mala Handicrafts Ltd. We also number each one, so we can trace back to say when it was made.
